Thanos by Jason Aaron takes us to his roots before he became the Titan he is now. The initial 3 pages was a wonderful opener that frames the grandness of this book. Very fitting for a great, iconic marvel character. We see here how he started on his path to loving death and Aaron made sense of this Titan’s obsession. there is an eerie sense of appreciation for beauty in death that Thanos had as a child and it was framed aptly in the panels and story telling. Bianchi’s art is wonderful and nicely detailed although i cant help but wonder how it would have looked like in a more contemporary art style or even go as far as a paintery scheme. The tale is very very classical that it seemed not to blend with marvel’s house style. But, looking at the story and the art apart from each other, both Aaron and Bianchi did their work. I’ll be back for the next issue. I can’t say i could recommend it to anyone but Marvel fans will be delighted certainly for this offering.
