What DnA have accomplished in marvel’s cosmic universe deserves more praise than I could ever give. The fact is, despite all the praise their cosmic work HAS recieved, it truly just isn’t enough.  Consequently, the Thanos Imperative was a bittersweet event because it was the end of an era for those of us who have loved these stories and the cosmic characters as written by DnA.

With this issue, we are given a glimpse of what lies ahead–and it is a downright euphoric experience to read. While this issue could certainly serve as a good jumping on point for those who plan to dive into DnA’s Annihilators series this spring, it would be a shame for anyone to miss out on the great cosmic stories DnA have crafted over the past 4 years. However, that important note aside, this still IS a great issue for those interested to catch up on the state of marvel’s cosmic U. For anyone with too much in their “been meaning to read pile” to go back to the beginning of DnA’s cosmic work, just start with this issue and gear up for Annihilators/ Rocket Raccoon and Groot

The hints of things to come are here–as is the fallout of the Thanos Imperative. While it is still definitely an epilogue to the recently concluded event, it does seem to function as a fitting prolgue of sorts for Annihilators as well- it is brilliantly handled in this regard.

I was worried about how DnA would craft the cosmic U without several of the characters who MAY have met their end recently, and I am happy to report that this issue eases those concerns significantly, as the writers prove that there still remains a substantial number of characters left in the cosmic U which they begin to flesh out further in this issue–thus leaving them ripe for further adventure in the cracking, high-concept fun the writers excel in crafting.

Fans of DnA cosmic MUST read this issue–that’s obvious. But for anyone still left out of the party, this really would be a fine place to get started if you are willing to deprive yourself of the incredible stories which came before.

Oh yeah, and the art here is fantastic–loads better than the servicable (but kinda muddy) work of the main Thanos Imperative series.

DnA cosmic, welcome back–the wait till the Annihilators/RR and Groot mini is gonna be a long one!!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
