This was a surprise -- I was not intending on scoring this, but the cover and creative team changed my mind. This is one of the first jags of the "Reign of Doomsday" story, and not having read anything leading up to this, I enjoyed James Robinson's story very much. There is a minor "spat" aboard the JLA satellite between Cyborg Superman, Doomsday, Batman, and Supergirl, and Robinson juggles characterization with broken jawbones quite adroitly. I've never seen Miguel Sepulveda's art before, but he mastered the DC icons present in this slugfest, and helped out the quiet moments with dynamic layouts. Once again, big surprise, and a win for me.
