.....James Robinson, where do you get off? Seriously, where do you get off making me laugh at a joke from George W. Bush? I never laugh at anything that man has said but you actually made me chuckle at a line he said in this issue. Minus a point there....

Okay in all seriousness the next part of 'New Krypton' is out and I've actually been worried about this. I'm sorry to all of those who loved Robinson's first arc on Superman....but to me that was just reeking of medicority. Weird lines that came out of no where, character traits that characters shouldnt have (Superman was a dick in the Krypto arc), and overall the art just wasnt good on the eyes. But hey this is a joint effort with Johns, I mean this cant totally suck right? Well.....Yes and no....

Let's get the art out of the way first, by which I means it isnt so good. To me the colors are too washed out and characters faces look really off. See Cat Grant in the background in the beginning or the two page spread of the JSA/JLA having a talk with Superman to see my point....I actually couldnt recognize if that was Kyle Rayner, Sodam Yat, or John Stewart. (Hint: It's the third one). Plus the background are a bit tame as well. That long panel with Kandor should've looked amazing....But instead it looked like it was rushed and looks like a bunch of legos stacked together.

Then we get to the story....Whew boy, I just dont see where this love of Robinson is coming from. Granted this issue had no weird diaologue or bizarre character traits....It just felt 'meh' really. I mean nothing special really happenend here. Superman goes to Kandor, first interuppted by JSA/JLA; then all of Kandor flies to meet the president, then....well let's just say that last page came out of no where. I'm sorry but is this the late 80's or 2008? Why the hell is Doomsday apart of this? He just comes really, no warning no nothing...he just shows up....and yet Superman is scared even though he's beaten him a ton of times now? I dont know, it just felt off to me....Nothing special to see here really.

I'm concerned whether if this will be the whole case with New Krypton or just Robinsons issues. But I'll take it on the latter cause the next part is in Action Comics so the groovy train will ride again once Johns is back on....But that's 5, count'em, 5 issues I've given a chance on Robinson on Superman. He has failed to impress and I 100% guarrente that I will drop this series once this event is out of the way.
