The plot is pretty much your standard Superman fights a monster and must use his brawn and BRAINS to defeat the monster story. Admittedly I like that type of story, but I thought the point of the reboot was to tread new ground. That really does not happen in this issue. Addtionally, this issue was also too wordy. I do think that George Perez came up with an interesting twist for this monster, and I liked the way he used General Lane as an anti-Jim Gordon. Jesus Merino does a great job on art and it bothers me that he doesn’t get more credit for the good work he does. Overall, I am starting to wonder if the Superman title is any better off than it was before the reboot.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good
