As an avid Ellis fan, even I’m finding this book a bit of a mess. Ellis is at his best when he fits complex ideas into simple concepts, as he did in Planetary (i.e., the world is strange, the Fantastic Four BUT EVIL!, etc.), whereas Supergod is a bit too complex and nothing is terribly well-explained. It also doesn’t help that such a packed book comes out nowhere near the advertised schedule. I bet this will read better in trade, but I’m not sure that trade will have any readers.
