A couple days I was complaining about how the Superman annual editions and Secret Files were pretty much just cash grabs for DC.  I figured I might as well pick up the Supergirl Annual because I already had every other Superman Annual (Superman, Action) that came out so far and Supergirl currently is my favorite Super-title.  I’m so glad I did.  The Supergirl Annual is a dollar cheaper than the Action Annual, and five times better.  It is a dollar cheaper than Secret Files also…

Supergirl Annual #1 is basically a thick book with very little ads, yet I couldn’t put it down until I was looking at some shitty R.E.B.E.L.S preview.  Both stories weren’t just as entertaining as they were interesting, they were also BOTH absolutely beautiful to look at.  I’ve always had a crush on Supergirl, except for that brief crush I had on Superwoman, so you know I don’t mind looking at the character.  Now the artists are trying to have her blossom into a late teenager/early 20-something year old and I am loving it!  This Fernando Dagnino guy is definitely going to be moving on to better things as his career progresses.

I don’t know much about Sterling Gates either, but I have loved every second of reading Supergirl comics since he took over on scripts.  It shows that he loves this chick just as much as I do, and he wants to make her shine out from the rest of the not so fun Super-characters (STEEL, Mon-El).

I would so like to make this my Pick Of The Week but I still haven’t made it halfway down my stack yet.  Wow, comics are good these days.  I can’t remember the last time I pulled less then nine books in one friggin week!
