I picked this up after not having read Superboy since issue 1 because of the “H’el on Earth” storyline through the Super-books. DeFalco does a good job in catching up new readers on who Superboy is now, what his personality is like, and how other characters perceive him. But there’s a lot of stuff to run through before we get to the crossover stuff. Superboy seems like an interesting character but his world seems full of the Teen Titans, the Legion of Superheroes, and Ravagers. To say I have zero interest in these characters is being generous and I hope that this crossover doesn’t involve them. I’ll keep reading to keep up with the greater story but I haven’t been blown away t the point of adding it to my monthly pull-list. The art is serviceable but sketchy at times. I remain open to seeing where Superboy goes but I think there’s way too much back-story and intertwining storylines for it to be a regular thing for me.
