Loved it, Loved it, Loved it ….

Rucka is one of my favorite writers today and this issue is no different than some of his best work. I’m not too familiar with Southworth, but I’ll definately be on the lookout for him.

My only complaint is the flashback to 27 hours, 13 hours, etc. It’s possible that Rucka may have trademark that style of writing, but I’ve seen it way too much in recent issues. “Cowboy Ninja Viking” had it, but did it in a tongue and cheek way that was funny. Of course you can’t do that in this book, but I kind of wished there was less of it.

So let’s get to the nitty and gritty, this is a cool detective story with a hot chick as the detective. Add in an awesome writer like Rucka and fresh cool noirish art by Southworth and you got yourself an issue that has lots of promise.

Pros:
Cool PI Story
Great art (my favorite full-page spread on 5-6)

Cons:
flashback style writing

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
