I read this book first this week as The Unwritten and the Vertigo Resurrected Hellblazer came out and I didn’t want this book to be in their shadow. That was a great decision! I enjoyed the first Strange Tales II issue but wasn’t overly thrilled with issue 2 but this one knocked it out the park. I don’t know if it was the mood I was in or what, but I loved almost everything about this issue. Apart from the bookend Uatu stories and the Heroes for Hire one I thought every story in here was a 4 or 5 out of 5. I especially like the art on the Silver Surfer and Machine Man story. The U.S. Agent story was one of the best parodies I’ve read in a long time, along with having fantastic art the Machine Man story also had some really great character moments, the Rogue short and the one with the Avengers at the fair were both excellent quick gags, and though the story itself wasn’t particularly excellent, I couldn’t help but be moved by the Harvey Pekar story. All in all a fantastic issue and a great way to end the second volume! Bring on Strange Tales III!

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
