THE STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE, VOL 01 TP

Review by: akamuu
Justin Jordan, Tradd Moore

Size: 0 pages
Price: 14.99

Comics about bullied kids becoming heroes are a penny a dozen but good ones are rare. Justin Jordan has written a violent high school vigilante comic on par with Millar’s “Kick-Ass”. Some of Moore’s panels are linier than I usually like but the man draws excellent facial expressions. The cover of this trade has a Liefeldian grimace, but within the book there are dozens of different grimaces and cartoony facial expressions that would seem to have no purpose with extricated spines and a Great Lake of blood, but somehow, Moore pulls it off.

I was sad to have missed this comic in issues but I’m definitely buying the trade, and looking forward to the next arc.

Comments

  1. Loved this book.

  2. I’v only read the first one, but I might start reading the series again.

I was listening to the comixology podcast with an interview with the artist and he said that there were going to be sequel series.

    • @Ryan The Lion: That’s great news. I was encouraged by the “1” on the spine of the book. Can’t wait to see where the creative team takes this next.
