This is my POW.  I’m so happy that we finally have an ongoing for these characters.  This book shows why I love them so much.

I’d like to make mention that if this book had not come out I would have most likely chose Nightwing, but between the two it would have been too easy to pick Nightwing as my POW.  It was a fantastic end to a great run with Tomasi, but this book clicked with me on all fronts.

First off Bane is coming to the forefront as one of the best characters to be added to this team since its original iteration.  His relationship with Scandal is laugh out loud.  Since the beginning he’s taken a shine to making her feel better.  Scandal as of late has been almost suicidal in nature.  She lost the love of her life and can’t seem to handle it.  Bane has taken it to task to be her Big Brother in a way.  There is one scene in the book when he’s generally trying to be nice, but because of his delivery Scandal misinterprets him as being a pervert.  When he stays persistent she realizes that she may have been hasty in her assessment.  Also he has a couple of the best lines in this issue.  Particularly about how much he can bench.

Next we see how the item retrieved in the last can make rational people crazy.  Catman who has usually been the most rational of the entire group seems to be a little off his rocker when thinking about the item.  Him and Scandal get into it which results in Catman stabbing her and Bane.  Catman realizes what he’s done, but his reaction felt very unlike him.

This issue also shows Junior a little bit more.  We get to see how powerful he really is and even more of his craziness.  The fact that he is catholic is a riot and there is a scene where he goes to confessional.  It’s priceless.

Lastly this issue has more of the new character Jeanette.  The lady with white hair.  Frankly after seeing here in battle, I’m scared of her.  I would definitely like to know more.

As for art on this book by Nicola Scott and Doug Hazlewood.  It’s amazing.  All of the art is really clean and everyone just looks really good.  Also the action feels really fluid.  I don’t think I’ve seen anything else these two have done, but I’ll be on the look out from now on.  Another thing to mention is the detail.  I really like that Deadshots pistols on his wrists look like real pistols that have been chopped up and retrofitted.

People please buy this book if you’re not.  If it can continue on it’s route I don’t want this to turn into another limited or canceled after only 12 issues.
