If you think Nemesis, Kick-Ass 2, and Superior are fantastic reads, and everything you love about comics, you will probably enjoy this.

If, like me, you miss when Mark Millar came up with interesting concepts like 1985 and Superman Red Son, this is not going to be the title that pitter patters your heart.

Characters spouting racist cliches and improbable action mask what might have been an interesting story.

Gibbons’s art is great but deserves a better story.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. great review, i have to admit it is refreshing to read you find this a let down. I am sure it will still sell a zillion copies and spawn a movie 🙂

    • Why do you say that it is, “…refreshing to read you find this a let down.”

Are you saying that you are glad akamuu gave ‘Secret Service’ a mid-low rating?

    • @ Kmanifesto not at all, its just good to know that people give an honest review as opposed to hey this is great because its no doubt going to be huge! i think its a positive that this forum has people being honest and in no way do i enjoy negativity bro, i come on here to find new things to read and if someones review says hey its not that great i may think twice about spending my hard earned cash and read something that may be a bit more interesting or exciting

  2. I wish it wasn’t a let-down. I really miss the days when I looked forward to Mark Millar books.

  3. I loved Red Son but 1985? That, to me, was a big let down. Of course, I’m sure we’ve all thought of that story sometime in our childhood, but he just didn’t pull it off – and I didn’t really like the sloppy art on it either.
