I have been preparing for this day.  Stocking up on the trades.  And now, it shall come.  I shall crack open the Infinity trades, the Annihilation trades, Nova, Guardians of The Galaxy, all the X Sh’iar that I can remember.  And I shall engross myself in the Marvel Cosmic storyline for the first time since I was a happy child befuddled by Adam Warlock.

It’s not that all these stories will be necessary to understanding War Of Kings, but it should certainly enhance the experience.  And a man must go cosmic some time.

That said, I didn’t love this issue.  It started…awesomely, and then, those silly colored boxes that signify the over-narration that accompanies a story that the author thinks isn’t entirely self-contained.  And, sure, at least following Secret Invasion helps set this up, but I think if Abnett and Landing trusted their readers more (assuming it wasn’t Quesada’s edict to spell shit out…which, btw, is s-h-i-t), this issue could have been more fun.
