In a week of good reads, Saga is my Pick of the Week simply because it made me smile.

There’s just an undeniable charm to the book. One moment, there is darkness then it’s offset by levity. The characters live and breathe. And there is just so much imagination poured into every page, you just feel like this is a labour of love. And you can’t help but love it as a result.

Brian K. Vaughan is simply an extraordinary writer who just seems incapable of doing anything less than epic. And Fiona Staples? She’s perfection.

From the Rocketship Forest and a noble sacrifice that has unintended consequences, to pity for a killer, this book makes you feel something for every character, in word and art. And don’t try to pretend you saw that last page coming!

Saga lives up to its name every issue. It’s a Hollywood blockbuster with staples in the middle. And if you aren’t reading it, you should turn in your iFanboy membership immediately.
