The first issue of this series was alright. It’s wasn’t a great highlight in the ‘Batman: Reborn’ reboot. What I can say that I love the dedication for DC with Tim Drake (aka Tim Wayne). They certainly think he has some potentional with being the next superhero to work outside of Batman’s rules. Maybe Red Robin could be the next Nightwing in that it’s a former ‘proper’ Robin going out on his own. Then this issue hit and the only thing that came to mind while reading it was:

‘Why the hell does this title exist?’

I have absolutely no idea after I was done with it. All of this was just Tim being a bit too angry with his love ones and some of his other friends back at Gotham wondering where he went. Now I like Tim Drake as a character but I just can’t support someone who needs to see a therapist with his anger issues. I went from liking Tim to making him want to die in the worst way with his attitude. There was a point in this issue where I wished I could somehow go into the comic and give Tim a nice kick to his groin. When Spoiler, his ex girlfriend, comes in to try and get on his good side; he just blows up on her! Telling her how useless it is to try or how Dick was wrong in choosing Damien as Robin. Why the hell is he taking all of this anger out on her? Why is he that angry anyways? Is it because that Bruce died or is it that the new Batman didn’t choose you as a partner. I hope it’s the first option because if it isn’t then Tim Drake can go cry in a fucking river if he’s jealous.

You can’t just have a character be angry and just be moody all through out the comic. It’s no fun to read and this ‘woe as me’ crap got old after the fifth page. As a whole though I still can’t see why this title exists. There’s no reason for Drake to be Red Robin, especially if it’s just him being angry at Dick. (You can giggle at that sentence if you must) Hell he isn’t even calling himself Red Robin! He just picked up the costume and decided to go into Europe because somehow the ghost of Bruce Wayne might be there. It’s all forced and just like ‘Gotham City Sirens’ it might be the weakest of all the Reborn titles to come out. At least for now; we still got Batgirl and Azrael to come out this fall. Although I am hoping for the later to be amazing.
