Judd Winick took a lot of flack for bringing back Jason Todd.  Whether you like his story or not, I think having a no longer dead Jason Todd in the Batman Universe has allowed some very interesting stories.  This isn’t one of them.

This is a drawn out version of what I thought was pretty much common Batman knowledge: Jason Todd was killed by the Joker, and somehow came back to life and was trained by the Al-Ghul’s.  At the end of this comic I didn’t know anything more than I did at the beginning, nor did I care to see what happens next.

Tucci’s cover is quite fugly, making this one of those rare comics where the interior artist is preferable to the cover artist.   But not by much.

  1. Thanks. I will not be buying this.

  2. You mostly seem to dislike the books I like. So I’m getting this;). I liked the under the hood story back then.

  3. @Cedric: I liked the original, one, too.  This one, howver, didn’t do it for me.  But, yea, if we usually differ on opinions, you’ll probably love this.

  4. I loved this book, it is my pick of the week!

  5. I liked it too

  6. I’m with you akamuu, I give this one a very average rating.  Almost nothing happened throughout the book.  I might pick up the next issue to see what story develops, but if I am not giving it at least a 4 star rating, I am done.  Nice job with the review.

  7. @cedric & gothamknight13: Have you already read Winick’s Under The Hood?
