I have enjoyed this series since it began.  This is already my favorite Punisher
story.  Simply because through the first
four issues the Punisher did nothing, absolutely nothing, to stop or even slow
the rise of the Kingpin.  Not for lack of
trying, there’s plenty of the Punisher doing what the Punisher does.  And realistic isn’t the right word for it
either.  But I enjoy seeing that some
things are bigger than the Punisher.  He
can’t just keep shooting until the chamber is empty and all the bad guys are
dead.  And just when you think this
series has shown you all the twisted and disturbing things it can, it shows you
another one that trumps all that have come before it.
I get upset at times when writers go for the shock of something over
telling the story.  But as shocking and
horrible as this is, it fits in this series perfectly.  The Kingpin isn’t as ruthless as you think,
he’s more ruthless than you can imagine.
In the end, the Kingpin wins and the Punisher is forced to run and hide
so he can live to fight another day.  And
just when you think you might be able to catch your breath you read the last
page.

  1. Amazing arc … so awful. 5/5

  2. BTW, really cool review. I like when you said "The Kingpin isn’t as ruthless as you think, he’s more ruthless than you can imagine. ".

  3. This arc was pretty good, but I expected more for some reason.  I’m still up for arc number two though.  Are you?
