I am not a Punisher fan by any stretch. I dont hate him or anything, he’s just never been that interesting to me. And I think that stems from the fact that there hasnt been anything groundbreaking about him for at least ten or so years. I mean seriously how many times can you fight the mob? But with this issue a door has been flung open, and behind that door is the weird and wild FrankenCastle.  I gotta give Rick Remender credit, I had heard good things about his run so far but it wasnt untill I I saw what happened in the list that I made the decision to pick this up. By killing Frank Castle and effectively bringing him back in this new form Remender has the oppurtunity to potentially tell some truly great stories in this books pages. Along with a good setup story for things to come, theres also some great art by Tony Moore who excells at drawing the weird inhabitants that make up the league of monsters(especially Man Thing and Morpheus who I have not seen in far to long). The books new direction will most likely piss off some longtime readers who like the Frank Castle that slays mobsters but I for one hope that this story goes on for as long as Remender wants to tell it and hopefully it wont get retconned and we’ll be forced back to a normal Punisher due to cloning, hallucination or some shit.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
