Same rules and opening paragraph the same as my Obama review. This is an inside look at the life of McCain before and during this campaign. It might be a little more interesting because McCain has lived a much longer life then Obama, but it is just as equal in entertainment value.

The handling of McCain’s life as a POW in Vietnam is done well here. It doesnt showcase much of the violence and it’s really only a panel or two to mention what type of hell this man had to go threw during the war. After that it’s pretty much what his political life was and to be honest it’s really intriguing to read. It’s all narrative like the Obama one, and it is a prose novel then any type of real comic. But I like how the writer, again, did a non-bias attempted at this comic and it’s refreshing to hear not only the good qualities of McCain, but the bad sides as well. This goes for Obama as well, his life isnt sunshine and lollypops that some people want us to believe.

The art, again, is realistically done well and it fits the overall tone with the book. When I see McCain on the pages, I know it’s him and they did a good job aging him in this book. So yeah overall it’s just as good as Obama’s own issue. It wont help you decide who to vote for I’m sure, but it’s an interesting read none the less. Give both of these books a show at your LCS or even your regular book store. My work (Border’s) got the one with both canidates in the same issue. Hey it’s 7.99 for the combo issue but it’s all the same either way.

  1. Why must politics get comic book presentations??? That’s just evil. And not to be political or anything, but… screw McCain. My opinion was well-formed wtithout this"comic."

Nice review, though. Simple and positive.

  2. These books are really going to test the "no politics" policy at iFanboy.com.

  3. Personally, I’d like to see "Warren Ellis Presents: John McCain". We may see a slight increase in the wartime violence, but I’m okay with that.

They’re actually quite good nonpoliticized biographies of two of the most important men in world right now.
