Although Bendis’ work on Daredevil and Ultimate Spiderman are among my favorite runs in superhero comics his work on Avengers titles have just nevery quite worked for me, the tone has just seemed too light and each of the characters seems to have the same goofy, and offsetting banter (Avengers Prime being a very noteworthy exception in which the characterization has been pitch perfect and appropriately balanced) I’ve mostly being buying this book due to the Immonen’s incredible work. However, this issue was simply too fun to give anything put five stars all around. It’s the “catch a breath” filler issue between arcs and it is a blast to read. There is a double page spread for Luke and Jessica’s babysitter applicants that is utterly hilarious and the whole issue was a blast to read.
Any chance we could just do standalone issues on the avengers for awhile Bendis??
And who is going to be replacing Immonen on pencils after next month??? Samnee perhaps!!!??? DO IT marvel!
