EPIC. Right from the start, this book hits you with a tightly choreographed ballet of writing and art. The story has a cinematic feel that immediately pulls you in and holds your attention until the last panel.

I’m new to the Avengers world; another one of those guys brought over by the events of AvX. Despite this, I was able to quickly grasp what’s going on: The stakes are high, with the fate of world(s) in the balance. The bad-guys are playing for keeps, and won’t hesitate to use the ol’ “Lars Homestead Maneuver” on anyone who stands in their way. This book shows us that desperate times call for desperate measures, but then asks us a question: Is sacrificing one’s convictions too high a price to pay?

I’ve been a fan of the idea of the Black Panther as a character for a long time. This series looks like it will finally provide a vehicle to introduce him to readers in a way that matters. I plan on following this series.
