Coming a little late to the party with this…

Nation X: X-Factor was my pick of the week from this week’s books, purely because Peter David has finally put into panel the very thoughts and criticisms which X-Men readers have been grinding gears about since the very start of this whole Utopia/Nation X story concept.

It doesn’t work. It doesn’t make sense.

Villains are welcomed with open arms, and the logic behind the whole story concept is flawed at every turn.

And when Madrox points all these flaws out to Cyclops the only answer he can offer is the most unconvincing ‘It will HAVE to work’. Pretending that there isn’t a huge problem, when all can plainly see there isn’t.

If ever the were an allegory for what is SO wrong with the entire stable of X-Men books right now this sketches it out in sharply written panel form. Top marks Peter David. And De Landro’s art was also of high standard throughout.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
