It’s clear reading Mudman #1 that Paul Grist has a masterful grip on the art of comic book creating and it’s that skill that sets this book apart from other superhero books.
There is a lot that happens within these 28 pages and the art fits the tone of the story perfectly.
It’s Grist’s layouts and choice of simple backgrounds that appeal to me most about the art.
Grist did a great job using this issue to set things up for the series. This book has it all…mystery, action and a hint of a budding love interest.
Mudman #1 proves that comics can still provide good,’clean’ fun.
