I gave this a 5 and it damn well isn’t a 5.  I just love Moon Knight so much and have been so sad with the last 7 or 8 issues of the book.  I like a story or two out of each of this runs arcs.  This arc was a mess.  This was the best, I think well at least we had some Moon Knight in it.  I really cannot understand how such a strange character with a bit of history in the Marvel universe cannot be mined for some good story lines.  This had Mexican wrestlers making jokes (still), a drunkard Punisher, Moon Knight beating up late comers and some Tranny looking monster with ax.  Sound crazy adn interesting?  No it wasn’t and the Norman shows up at the end to try and tie this shitstorm all together.  Sigh

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 2 - Average

This is not a fair review.  Let’s start with the art.  Jefte Palo totally delivered in bringing a fresh look to the book.  And Benson absolutely delivered with a hard-hitting compelling tale that wraps up in a satisfactory conclusion.  Benson writes excellent gritty dialogue and it was a fun read that will be even better in trade form.

Maybe you are right about the trade read.  The art is gritty but it is not amazing, I think the coloring hurts it a bit but not amazing.  What was compelling about this?  Throwing the worm away in the toilet and struggling with not taking a sip of the drink was yes but everything before that wasn’t

First off you can’t deny the dialogue is written well.  What I felt compelling was the ending to the Moon Knight drug lord story as a whole.  It was a fun ride.  That house of horrors was pretty cool and how can you not love Moon Knight using someone’s decapitated head as a weapon.  I liked it.  Is it the end all, no, but in no way is it a 1.  I’d give it a 4.

  4. This book isn’t action adventure. It’s a psychological trip. Not everyone’s cup of tea.
