I love a cover that tells you what to expect in the issue...  

I have been hankering for more SI since reading the first issue of the primary title and this issue did its job.  Good news, as far as I can tell you can enjoy the main SI series without this issue.  So if  you’re worried about being forced to drink one less beer at the bar this weekend you can go and skip this issue.  However, be warned, to skip this issue means you'll be missing out on a well paced story that feels like Bendis has been yearning to write for years.  

  Despite what the solicitation copy says there are no major reveals here that an online fan isn't already aware of from the SI preview at Marvel's site.  The issue is focused on getting us up to date on the life and times of Nick Fury.  From his disappearance at the end of secret war  to his choice to become Nick Fury, agent of humanity.  I skipped the Maleev / Bendis run of Daredevil, and this issue drove home just how much I missed out on. 

  The art was tone perfect for the script that was delivered and I would only be too excited if the mighty avengers turn into a Fury centric story during the SI saga.  Great art and a true sense of tension throughout this issue shows why Bendis has the chops to keep SI going.
