All seemed relatively hunky-dory until the end of the last issue.  This issue stays fucked the fuck up.  And it’s great for it.

Bonus points to Samnee (the artist) for drawing someone at two distinctly different phases of their life, and making it seem like they’ve aged naturally.  Most artists have a hard time balancing the lines between just throwing a beard on a character and making them fatter, or making them look so different, it’s hardly believable that they’re the same character.

Also, Tomasi and Champagne arereally fleshing out their characters over these first five issues, whereas most writers would have shown their hand in issue one just to get readership.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. I completely agree with this. They are being patient and deliberate. I appreciate that this story is a true mystery and not all ban!g bang! reveal!!! jam! jam! pow! big twist! This is an on-going and needs a lot of substance to have good mileage.

This is hands-down my favorite on-going. I love Janet, she’s my favorite character in comics. And this issue made me like Cole and hate the villain. I’m totally involved in this!

  2. This book is sooooo good.  The cliffhanger on this issue was so crazy.  This is my darkhorse book fo the year right now

  3. But this isn’t darkhorse…

  4. I’m still reading it.  I just having figured out why yet.  Maybe this issue with hold the key.

  5. @ Jumping No not the Company the term a "dark horse" is  used to describe a little-known person or thing who emerges to prominence

  6. @0: I had never heard that expression before…

  7. @ Jumping :  I know a great deal of silly words never used in common speech.
