What happens when you take:

1 Bruce Campbell + Army of Darkness + Marvel Zombies + Dr. Doom?

You get probably a bizarre and hilarious crossover event of epic proportions! Getting back into comics I remember Marvel Zombies being huge. Now it’s a bit of a joke because how much Marvel has been pushing this thing. But I remember reading this in hardcover a long ways back, and enjoying every moment of this.

First off, it’s a scientific fact that Bruce Campbell can do no wrong. So when you read the comics based on his most memorible films it’s a blast to read. Putting him in the havok that is the Marvel Zombie universe, especially during the beginning days of the plague, and you got yourself a beavy of action. Let me state that people who love CHEW, will love this story. Mainly because the writer of that series, John Layman, is the sole reason for this being a good crossover. He has a perfect voice for Ash Williams/Bruce Campbell and anything coming from him is comedic gold. Then you add him fighting heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, and Dr. Doom! You got a nerd paradise here. This version of Dr. Doom might be the best version I’ve read of him. Layman has got the good doctor down and I would kill to see a Dr. Doom mini/one-shot/ongoing with him as writer.

A review of this will be short only because I have the urge to go read this right now. If your a fan of Army of Darkness and a uber fan of Marvel Zombies. This is just a huge nugget of gold for you. Even if your not a fan of either, I say even with lack of knowledge of the Zombieverse you will still love this story. I hope in the future we’ll see this crossover happen again. Maybe Ash going into the real Marvel universe in the future?
