Lost Vegas was pretty good.

It has a weird concept where a human dude is an intergalactic gambler who cheats and hustles in first couple pages, gets caught and is enslaved on a spaceship casino. Fast forward 5 years and he is trying to hustle a way out. That’s the pitch I guess.

So, the Dapper Men people succeed in giving us something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than their previous work.

The Concept is ok, but gambling stuff is kind of played out. It seems like the parts that I really liked, they jumped off of too quickly and ran as fast as possible at the parts that I didn’t care about.

If they slowed down and fleshed out ANY of it, I would probably love it. It IS a 1st issue, though. A lot of plot really fast with a somewhat less than memorable cliffhanger.

As a wage slave, it’s pretty relatable to me…for a space oddyssey. But it REALLY wants to be Saga. I think
Janet K. Lee just kills on art and it is nasty good and rich and bright and huge.

McCann is a good writer. Just seems that his spastic personality might be moving too quickly through a wonderful world that he’s creating.

Again, I have a lot of faith in this creative team. I just wish that they would explain their good ideas and beautiful concepts to me a little more. I blame Ron 🙂

Story: 3 - Good
