This issue was a lot fuller of comedy than I was expecting.

It might have been Buckingham’s art, which I always felt lent itself to jokes than dark storytelling, but I think Willingham was actively trying for the laughs this issue.

I do like how he’s keeping the genres in their own unique voices. However, I like how he’s having people that aren’t genres treating like the annoying ponces I’d imagine they’d come off as. I think my favorite part of the issue was the Unicorn bit. I think they kind of broadcast what Sam was going to come back to a little too much, but overall this was one of the better installments in the crossover.
