I’d never read any Archie before (the character isn’t popular in the UK) but somehow this has become the title I most look forward to reading. There can’t be a better value package. Two full length stories (one with him married to Betty, in the other to Veronica), with oversized art, for $3.99. Wonderful art from Norm Breyfogle who hasn’t lost a step since his Batman days. Addictive plotting combining soap-opera style with surprising realism. And then to cap it all off some background hints about parallel universes to explain the divergent time-lines and all the other crazy different Archies there have apparently been in the past. Anybody looking for something a bit different should give this a chance. It certainly isn’t what I thought it would be.
