I will begin this review with a disclaimer, I knew nothing about the writer or the artist before picking this up.  I have a fasination with westerns and thought this would be a great title to pick up.  Not so much the horror/western that Mr. Hex is, but a story about a man and his gun.  The problem that I had with this story is that it had a been there done that feeling to it.  The story line felt rehashed out of a episode from Bonanza and then on top of it you create the conflict in the story and don’t finish it!  As far as one shot comics go I would expect it to be what the name implies a one and done story.  The art was good to average, it did not detract from the story at all, but nothing that made me go wow.  Overall, after watching stories that came out of the HBO show Deadwood, where the story is driven by strong chracters and there are undertones through out the piece, this comic felt more like a run of the mill Western story that my parents enjoyed while watching John Wayne.  I guess I just want more from a genre that can do so much, but so little is done with.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good
