This issue continues the epic Kingdom Come storyline. I really like what Johns has done with the cast. He keeps adding more and more characters that lets the JSA live up to its name as a society. We see different friendships develop within, and come to know and love new characters. With a cast this large though, you know there will be sparks, and Johns has hinted at this recently.
Any ways, on to the review. This issue developed the threat of Gog really well. He is able to stand toe to toe with the Infinity Man, a higher up New God that has gained new prominence in the Death of the New Gods series- highly recommended. Then he busts into the JSA brownstone with an unconscious Sandman, remember he is silicon based so impalement does not equal death, and a monkey. In the ensuing fight Gog systematically took down the heavy hitters before they could do much damage. I loved seeing the team-ups that occurred within the Society, and how some of the new members really stepped up to the plate. The last page left me hungry for more with Alan in his KC wear with his son by his side ready to kick butt. I believe this is our GL, just wearing this armor for the first time. Obsidian has looked like this throughout the series, so I believe he is from the main DC universe as well.
I also like the Sandman character piece in here. It helps to explain his transition from Sandy of the previous volume into the Sandman here. It shows how his power of prophetic dreams is really a curse, and how he deals with it. The three beginning pages are crammed with enough character development that I feel like I know the Sandman and what makes him tick.
It's great to have Eaglesham back on art. I loved his conference room scene and his depiction of the various personalities crammed into that room. His action scenes convey the series of events expertly, hitting the high notes of the fight. Overall a great issue that leaves me ready to see someone get beat up!

The Sandman character piece at the start was my favourite part of the book.
Awesome issue.
