Out of all the New 52 TEAM BOOKS, JLI is quickly becoming my favorite – which is a little bit shocking to me.

Let me take a moment to run thru the other Team Books so far……

1. John’s and Lee’s Justice League could be a contender at my fave but it feels like that first issue came out a year ago and the story also feels like it’s taking place in another universe.

2. Teen Titans is pretty good but we only met 3 of the major players in that book (not really counting Superboy). Also, the art can be somewhat jarring.

3. Blackhawk issue 1 didn’t serve up much characterization or attachment.

4. Green Lantern Corps only focused on 2 members so to call that a team book is stretching it.

5. Birds of Prey was decent but it’s trying to hard to be cool.

6. Red Lanterns. Yeah right.

7. Stormwatch is, like I said in my review of issue 2, like a private party I wasn’t invited to. 2 issues in and it just didn’t click with me.

8. Suicide Squad makes me feel all icky. I recently re-read the first issue and liked it little bit more, but still, not sure I want to read a comic about a team of psychos killing people.

9. Legion of Superheroes. Yeah right.

So that just leaves JLI as the better Team Book in my opinion. We are getting rich characterization from Dan Jurgens and dramatic interplay within the team itself. I like how this team isn’t trying to be something they are not and understands their roll might be to just take care of the random giant robot that pops up in Peru or something. It will be fun to watch Booster grow into his roll as a leader and fun to watch Guy Gardner get pissed off at that. There are the stirrings of a love story happening as well. So far in 2 issues this book as it all!
