I really enjoyed this issue. It was everything that I was expecting out of the relaunch. Let me say that I am pretty new to comics. I read them when I was younger, but I just got back into them after a 10 year hiatus in March of this year. Therefore, I don’t think that my expectations were quite as high as many of the other readers.

I think this story accomplished what it set out to accomplish, and I think it is a wonderful starting point for the new DC. After reading that issue, I became even more excited for what’s to come than I already had been.

Geoff Johns has become one of my favorite writers. I love how he writes everything in an opening and closing chapter form with each book. His dialogue between Green Lantern and Batman is absolutely pricless, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. I really enjoyed the Vic Stone side-story, and I look forward to seeing how it progresses.

As for Jim Lee’s art, is there really anything to say? He’s just as amazing as he always has been, and I could look at the pages forever.

Overall, this was an excellent first issue and I am patiently waiting for issue #2!!
