Once again, Jimmie and Justin came up with a story that I didn’t expect them to tell. This Jonah Hex adventure involves him getting stranded in a blizzard and being saved by a mysterious outback Nerd-looking fellow.

The Nerd-looking fellow is a cattle rancher who tends to Jonah’s injuries and heals him up.

For a while I had the feeling that the nerd-looking cattle rancher was going to try to go all “Deliverance” on Jonah’s ass, literally. That feeling was amplified by a sequence in the book where the cattle rancher tells Jonah that he is no killer and Jonah lets him know that he doesn’t believe it.

I won’t spoil the ending for you, but I’ll tell you this much, it caught me by surprise, even though I shouldn’t have.
