This book is big. And very expensive. But mostly, this book is achingly beautiful. The third in a (please God!)ongoing series from IDW, it follows similar books devoted to Dave Stevens’ Rocketeer & Walt Simonson’s Thor. There’s a reason why Todd Macfarlane once said about Romita “…when we close our eyes, it’s his Spider-Man we see…” & it’s evident on every page. Clean, graceful, dynamic, inventive – Romita’s art is at that level where praise is almost superfluous. Get this book & glimpse why the Silver Age mattered.
