While the main Fables title has bounced away from the big crossover, and presented a new and exciting story arc, Jack of Fables feels like it’s just treading water.  The main character has some image issues due to his post-modern meta breaking the fourth wall interaction with the artist.  A ho ho ho, a ha ha ha, a yawn.  And the new Jack Frost character deals with his mommy and daddy issues.

The Jack Frost character was, to me, the most interesting part of the Jack-centric plots in The Great Fables Crossover.  And I’m a little sad that his story in this book isn’t more exciting.  He has a lot of character potential that just isn’t really toyed with here.

I’m likely to drop back off this title, and stick to the main book.
