This is turning out better than expected. My expectations weren’t very high, but hey, it’s Greg Land. Luckily, the characters faces are covered by helmets most of the time, so that helps, but even his non-helmeted faces seem to look nice. There is a standard of consistency with the way his characters look. That standard of consistency is something I have always struggled with when it comes to Land.

Kieron Gillen’s take on Tony is nothing bold or new, but he does a nice job of playing to Tony’s strengths. The reason I buy anything Gillen is because the voice he gives his characters. I am still not hearing what I know he is capable of. The echo of Fraction through a Robert Downey jr megaphone is what I hear now. Let Gillen cut his teeth on a few more issues and this story is going to pick up major steam.
