This new series has all the ingredients to become something really fun and exciting. We immediately get thrown into the action as a team of 4 kids are infiltrating a heavily guarded compound in Russia to foil an evil mad scientist, steal some plans and battle a crazed cyber-bear.

We have all the parts you’d need for a “commando”-type team. A weapons expert, a strongman, a flying rocket girl and smart techy guy, all led by an eccentric Vincent Price-y wealthy inventor type who makes it a point to reinforce to his young students how important their mission is and not to waste time with silly super team names like “The Intrepids”

The art has a pretty all ages, hanna barbera thing going for it. I kept being reminded of vintage Johnny Quest cartoons which is something that i really liked. Sure there is violence, people get shot and slashed, but its kept out of view and not thrown in your face, so the book really doesn’t feel violent at all.

The story was good and while it wasn’t perfect, i was left wanting to find out what happens next. It was an interesting and fun start to something that has a lot of potential and something worth checking out.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
