Going into Iredeemable, I had no expectations, and was, therefore, pleasantly blown away by how awesome it was.  But because of how much I enjoy that title, a lot of pressure was on Incorruptable to be genius from the get go.  And it isn’t.

It’s not bad.  It may even become a really good title, but this first issue is really ho-hum for the spin-off of a book that started with a superhero killing a baby.  Instead of hero gone rogue, this is villain trying to de-rogue, and it’s, frankly, not as interesting a story.

The art is also inconsistent here.  Certain panels are reminiscent of the best issues of The Boys.  And some are…well, not very good.  Faces seem to be troublesome  for Jean Diaz.

I’m not entirely sure if I’ll flip through the second issue.

  1. Good review, tho’ I’d give the story a 3 or 4 and the art a 1…with better art the story might have worked better but it is certainly hard to tell in comics sometimes…imagine this book with Sean Phillips would be a whole different experience.
