There are only two things that I do not like about Vertigo’s House of Mystery.  One, it only comes out one time a month so I can’t remember what the hell happened in the last issue, or any of the other ones before that for that matter.  And two, they don’t do recaps in the beginning like Marvel comics do, so again, I can’t remember what the hell is going on.
The little story within the story in this month’s issue is the best part of this comic book.  I just don’t see how Warner Brothers isn’t getting sued by Universal right at this very moment.
The other story, or should I say, “the main story,” is just as confusing as always, and of course, just as equally compelling, creative, amusing, poetic, and just plain creepy.  As always, House of Mystery rates five stars on the weirdness meter.
I think this month would be a fine time to pull out the other eight issues of this latest volume, and read them over with a fine comb.  Then, hopefully, I’ll have a better understanding of what happened at the end of # nine, and I’ll be ready to jump right into issue #10!!  I suggest you do the same.
