Brahm Revel started a wonderful series about primates thrown into war a couple of years ago. The series was a little edgy, a little weird, and very well illustrated. Everything this comic aspires to be.
Instead, Hit Monkey is an odd little origin story by Mr. Daniel “Deadpoolverine” Way. On its own it’s a bit of fun. And the cover does say it’s a one shot. And, if that’s the case, props to Mr. Way for this tiny little fluff story about an assassin protected by a tribe of monkeys, and the one monkey who is destined to take his place.
Honestly, I don’t want to see Hit Monkey showing up in another comic. Especially a Deadpool comic. (Do you hear me, Way? If this character worms its way into the Marvel Universe continuity I will never forgive you.) It’s a dumb little character that should stay a dumb little character, and never be used again.

Uh……no offense, but you should read the solict for this…..This is technically the ‘second’ appearence of Hitman Monkey.
The first being sometime in the future cause Deadpool #19 was late this month.
Uggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggh. That is AWFUL news.
I don’t read the solicits because I like each comic and each issue to be a surprise. But I am not looking forward to Hit Monkey being an ongoing character in Deadpool.
@akamuu: I think he’s just the villain for the current arc. Which is about 2-3 issues…..so I wouldn’t worry. Then again if the Deadpool Corps will pass at Marvel, then who knows?
God damnit akamuu. Make my fucking decisions for me for once in your life!!!! Should I get this or not?
@vadamowens: No. It was ok, but not ok enough to warrant buying. Skip it.
you’re a good man Charlie Brown
@vadamowens: Actually, I played Linus in that play when I was….young enough to play Linus. 😉
UM … hate to be contrarian, but Deadpool is all about coloring outside the lines … bring on more Hit Monkey!!!
