Don’t let this cover deceive you. There is no fight between GL Simon Baz and the Justice League. They’re there, but only for a few pages. I think the problem with this issue is that it has too much to deal with: Simon Baz trying to figure out how to use he ring so he can find out who put the bomb in the van, what are the Guardians doing next & just where the hell are Hal and Sinestro? I’m not saying it wasn’t good, but it’s just so much of so little. Doug Mahnke’s artis pretty damn good, though I think he drew a different Wonder Woman on the cover than inside the book, thankfully. When Simon is being interrogated by the JL is the best scene in this book, and him saying, “Maybe I could take Batman.” for Batman to reply, “He’s a Green Lantern all right!” was great. When we finally start getting answers it’ll be easier to fully enjoy all that Geoff Johns is offering.
