After 5 years of Green Arrow in Winnick’s very distinctive voice and writing style, we finally have something new. In one issue, new writer Andrew Kreisberg brings us a story filled to the brim with great action, wonderful character moments, and even a reflective recap of Green Arrow’s career from his newly revamped origin to the events of two issues ago, making this the perfect jumping-on point for new readers.
Norton has really come into his own this month, finally stepping out of Cliff Chang’s shadow and making this book his own.
What I’ve wanted from this book the most since its first issue was a sense of family. I wanted Team Arrow to feel like the first family of the DCU, much like the Fantastic Four does to Marvel. I think that Kreisberg does this in spades. For the first time since their marriage, Ollie and Dinah actually feel like husband and wife.
I haven’t been this excited about Green Arrow in years, and I can’t wait for more. If you’re not reading Green Arrow, now’s the time to start!
