While I thought the first issue of this new series was disappointing, there was something charmingly naive about it. This second issue, however, is just plain awful.

The art has enough dated charm to make it vaguely captivating, but the writing is just plain clumsy. And preachy as hell. I’ve been on the fence with JT Krul up to this point, but this writing had all the nuance of a snarky forum post. Completely devoid of any interesting ideas, it instead goes straight to underestimating the intelligence of it’s reader. I think Krul would be better served dropping the “Green Arrow” from the title and just calling it “Shit that’s bugging me”.

Truly, truly woeful.
