I have never been a "Godzilla" fan, but ever since I randomly picked up Orc Stain #1, I have been a fan of James Stokoe. He is the reason I picked up this series, and I'll be damned if he hasn't made me a Godzilla fan. I have wanted more Godzilla after every issue. This is the best issue of the series, and my POTW in a week of good books. The art is so good that the words could be in Japanese and I wouldnt have missed a beat. The detail is amazing and the Godzilla fighting is awesome. I loved the panels of Godzilla blasting Space Godzilla on page 21 and Ota taking control of the busted Mechagodzilla with the wires buzzing and the look of excitement on his face (19). I also really liked how the inside cover/ credits page was part of the story. Stokoe wastes no space in this comic. A bargain at 3.99.
As far as the story goes, its great. It fits into the larger story well, and adds a nice twist towards the end. Stokoe handles Ota and Ken's aging superbly. These guys feel older in look, speech, and action. He even sorta made me feel sympathy for that "rotten sonuva" Deverich. Oh yeah, and there is awesome 3 way Godzilla fighting and the destruction of beautiful Indian architecture. Very cool.
