You may not believe it, but this is a tremendous comic book, and you’re most likely not reading it. There’s a good chance I’m huffing the fumes of nostalgia, but this series — a direct in-continuity follow up to the classic Joe series of the 1980s — has evolved into such a fun continuation of all the great things writer/creator Larry Hama did in the original series. This relaunch started out shaky, but Hama got his footing over the last few issues and is kicking it in the balls. The art is uneven, but that is doing nothing to temper my enthusiasm for classic Hama, absent for decades.
