I seem to be reviewing a bunch of last issues from Marvel this month. Ghost Rider is a title that I never really delved into. I’d pick up an issue here or there, not be engaged by the story, put it down, and move to another title. Even when Ghost Rider appeared in other comics I was reading, I’d find myself zoning out at the mention of “Spirit Of Vengeance”.

So I found myself a little surprised that I not only finished this issue, but enjoyed it. Williams’s take on Alejandra, Johnny Blaze, and Mephisto (as well as a cameo from Doctor Strange) did the improbable and made me care about Johnny Blaze, Doctor Strange and Mephisto. I’m going to check out some back issues on this run, as well as take a gander at the Venom: Circle Of Four storyline.

The art was good, and consistent enough that I didn’t notice when the art changed, twice.
