I skipped last issue of Frank, maybe the one before that, too. But I’m glad I picked up the zero issue.

Ponticelli’s art in this issue is stellar. Truly. He’s done “good” work on the whole series, but he jumped several pay grades with this issue. I believe one panel made the “Panels of the Week.” This issue is-front to back–great.

It’s worth buying for the art alone. And get’s a 5 for the art easily.

Kindt’s script is spare, giving Ponticelli the room to tell the bulk of story. Smart choice. I’m sure there was some collaboration between the two on layouts etc. It works.

The first 3 pages and damn good. I’m jumping back on with issue #13. Looks they’re hitting their stride.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. This has been one of my favorites of the relaunch. It’s a very underrated title in my opinion. The addition of Faucher on inks has really elevated the art, the guy’s a pro. Take a look back at the issues that Wong inked and compare them to this it’s like night and day.I was also really impressed how seemless the transition from Lemire to Kindt was, Kidnt has managed to stay true to the concept while adding his own flavor. Also, for an added bonus try reading Frank’s diologue out loud, it’s a guaranteed belly laugh.
